Cold!

Is it the world, or is it the weather?!

Off to Oblivion

If I forget and you forget,
can we label all forgotten?
When thoughts are left untouched,
do they too, then, turn rotten?
And grow to monstrous sizes
of layers white and green?
In scary shapes and nauseous forms
you wish you'd never seen.

Or do they vanish like a rainbow,
that reappears from time to time -
just when you least expect it,
like numbers that are prime?

Or do they fix themselves for good
to the corner of my heel
And prick with every step I take,
that I'll never cease to feel?

For I'd like, simply, to bundle them
With prayers, lead them ashore,
Let them find a new horizon
So they can visit me no more.

In reponse to:

"Any ideas, suggestions, clues on what to do with Monday blues?"

I say chuck your Monday blues!
Crush them with your shoes
And let the shoes diffuse
These Monday morning blues.

OR

Toss them in the air
Strip their insides bare
Show you do not care
Monday blues, beware!

OR

Twist them out of shape
Squish them like a grape
Let them stand agape
Monday blues, you ape!

OR

Show them all your might
Shake them left and right!
They'll know not day from night
Those 'blues will flee from sight.

This Weather!

It rained last night.
Was I to tell
today would not be
cold as well?

Wrapped in wool
from head to toe,
I stepped out.
I had far to go.

All mufflered up,
and stockinged down.
Oh I was set
to hit the town!

Until came out
the silly sun,
and stripped off layers
one by one.

(I couldn't, 'course,
go very far!
These social norms
impose a bar.)

And so I struggled
all day long
'cos Mr. Sun had
got it wrong!

How hard is it,
tell me, pray,
to make your mind
up for the day?

So tomorrow, then,
Will you be good?
And stay in if
Stay in you should?

Don't get me wrong,
I love you out -
if you just stay put,
not run about!

That said then,
let's meet tomorrow?
With no more partings,
no sweet sorrow?

Orange

Orange, the color
Of light, of the sun
Of leaves in the fall
Of passion, of fun!

Orange, the fruit
So perfect and round.
No other so perfect
A fruit's to be found.

Orange, the juice
(From fruit of its kind) -
Oh how it refreshes,
And livens the mind!

Orange, its name
It starts with an "O".
Not a "P" or a "Q"
It's symmetric, you know.

Orange, its spirit
Gives others a raise.
I love how it lightens
The heaviest of days.

Orange is fullness.
And lively and free.
Orange is orange,
Orange is me!

Zzzzz...

Sleep evades
Consciousness fades
Night-time falls
And bed-time calls
Oh hypnotize
These tired eyes
And put them thus
To sleep.
